Middle East (MNN) ― An E3 Partner worker in the Middle East is recovering after being attacked by a radical Muslim.

Doyle says, “Jamal was sharing with a Muslim who really seemed to be seeking. He seemed to know a little bit about Christianity. He was talking about dreams and visions, and there was some trust there. Jamal was completely surprised that the man attacked him.”

The attack was violent, says Doyle. “The man said, ‘Do you have any literature?’ and Jamal says, ‘Yes.’ When he turned to get something, the man jumped out of his chair and had a long screwdriver and tried to get Jamal in the back of his head. And then, Jamal turned around in shock, and the man then tried to shove [the screwdriver] through his chest.”

As Jamal tried to fight the man off, he was then hit in the face by a club. Miraculously, Jamal survived the attack, and the national police were called by a family member

Doyle says while the Muslim was being taken away to jail, Jamal showed love to his attacker. He said, “I forgive you. There’s nothing between you and me. I want to come visit you in prison. There’s nothing between my family and yours, and I hope to see you when you’re out of prison. I know God is going to use this in your life, and I’m going to pray for you.”

It was heard by authorities. Doyle says this is a unique message in the Middle East. “There’s no forgiveness there. You do something to my family, I do it back to your family, and it just never ends.”

Doyle adds, “Jamal’s display of forgiveness is the most powerful message because it’s not the message of the other religion. That puts Christianity in a different category, which it really is. This message of forgiveness — that’s what’s needed there.”

After a cold night, we awoke to another beautiful day.  We enjoyed or coffee and tea along with some pasta my brother-in law cooked over the fire. We even filled some of our empty bottles with water from a natural spring close to the lake.  Wow, was that water cold.  After a morning swim, we finally torn down our campsite, put our gear in our kayaks, and off we went for day two of our adventure.

Today was a bit different.  We spent less time on the lakes and more time kayaking in the rivers.  Of course, it was easier to kayak on a river than a lake.  It seems on the lake, when I was oaring, I was using too much power with my right arm and when I was oaring with the left, I was not putting enough strength into it.  Instead of kayaking straight across the lake, we ended up zigzagging across it. 

The river was a whole different story.  Less oaring was required when going down the river.  We just need to compensate more for the bends in the rivers.  The scenery was spectacular going down these rivers.  Looking into the water you see a whole different world than what was above the water.

We made it to our first stop.  It was a point where we had to take our kayaks across a road. There river did continue under the road to the other side. The other side was a little recreational area where many of the locals enjoyed the water gushing out.  There was a little market and place to grab a bit to eat.  We enjoyed some beer, saltibarsciai (fresh beet soup), and some ice cream.  We picked up a couple of snacks and continue with our journey down the river.

After a nice time floating down the river, we finally made it to another lake.  We kayaked a little further across the lake to our final stop of the day.  It would be here where we would set up camp for the night.

Yeah, the 2016 Olympics will have both golf and rugby as events.  I think this is a good idea to add two new events to the Olympic program.  Golf is a huge sport worldwide and I think it is about time that the Olympic Committee brough back this sport as an event.  As for rugby, I have only watched bits and pieces of this game on television but   it would be entertaining as an event in the Olympics. I think the Olympics need to bring back more events to th the Olympic  games. I would like them to bring back the Tug of War event. I sure can’t wait for the 2016 Olympic games

To be honest , I am so happy to see that Rio De Janeiro will host the 2016 Summer Olympics.  This will be the first time that a city in South America will host an Olympics.  This will be an interesting setting for the Olympic games. 

To everyone who wanted to see the Olympics held in Chicago, better luck next time. I really thought Chicago had a very good shot at hosting the Olympics. I think if Rio wasn’t in the mix of cities competing to host the Olympics then Chicago would have won.  I think this was an opportunity to choose a city that would make history.  Choosing Rio to host the Olympics was an easy choice.  The other two cities, Madrid and Tokyo, were interesting  choices but I was not too excited to see either of them to host the Olympics.

I think if the US wants to land the Olympics then they should have the state of Hawaii host the Olympics.  Honestly, I don’t think Hawaii has the infrastructure to handle the Olympics but it would be a great place to attempt to have it.  The only other place I would like to see the Olympics held, it would be in Lithuania.  There is no way Lithuania could hold an Olympics.

This summer I had the opportunity to spend three days kayaking through various lakes and rivers in the Aukštaitija National Park in Lithuania.  This was my first time going kayaking and I was not too sure about this adventure.  We were kayaking with family and friends which made it easier.  Our friends have been kayaking in this area for about 10 years and knew all the good spots to see and what areas were good  to set up a camp site for the night.

Day one was a nervous one for me.  I was terrified to go in the kayak since I have never been on a lake in a kayak.    I had once been on a lake with a houseboat and a friends power boat but never a boat that required someone to use oars. I was even afraid to put my oar in the water.  I don’t know what I was afraid about since I did have life preserver jacket on. 

The weather was perfect to go out on the lake.  If you know anything about Lithuania, you know it rains in Lithuania. It was very fortunate that it was not raining this day.  So as we set out on our journey, I learned that we were going to be kayaking across multiple lakes and a couple of  rivers for about four hours.  Say what?????  Part of our group was unable to make it until later that evening and I was informed that they were going to have someone drive them to  the campground we were going to. So let me understand, I could either be confined to a two man kayak for four hours or I could have had someone drive me to the campground.  I would have gone with the second option.  I was not able to choose the second option. 

Half ways through our adventure, I was told we were going across the deepest lake in Lithuania, Lake Tauragnas .  I started to think this would be a bad place to tip over the kayak, so I better start oaring harder.  We finally made it to our destination for the day.  The lakes we traveled across were beautiful and it was well worth the four hour kayaking adventure.

Once we made it to  our destination, we set up for camp for that evening.   Since it does not get dark until about 11 pm, there was plenty of daylight left to swim in the lake.  We cooked Šašlykai (kebabs) over the fire and enjoyed a good meal.  We were up late and had fun that evening.

As a Chiefs’ fan I was shocked to see K.C. score 24 points against Baltimore without Matt Cassell.  They still lost but this gives me hope for the Chiefs next year. I have not seen any highlights of the game yet but at least the Chiefs will win a few games.  the Chiefs need a better offensive line to compete in the NFL.

I saw a little bit of the NY Jets games.  Sanchez does not look like a rookie and he looked like a veteran quarterback out there.  The Jets look good but again they are in the same division as the New England Patriots. 

I was happy to see Brett Farve back in the NFL but the true question is how long  will he last?  If he lasts the whole season, the Vikings have a chance.  I really like Peterson at running back and Farve no longer has to pile up passing yards to win the game. 

Well the Arizona Cardinals lost to the S.F. 49ners.  I am not a huge 49ners fan but I knew the Arizona Cardinals are going to have a tough year. The NFC West is a weak division and it is going to be an open race for this division.  I think the Seattle Seahawks will win this division.

My favorite team to watch this year looks like the New Orleans Saints. I know they played Detroit but it was still a great win.  if you had Drew Brees as your Fantasy football quarterback then you are  really happy with today’s results.  I like both the New Orleans Saints and the Atalanta Falcons.

I am rooting for the Falcons since Tony Gonzales is playing for them.  This will help out matt Ryan this year with another huge target to pass to.  i have heard the Falcons have a hard schedule this year.

Last comment for today. I can not believe that McNabb went down with a broken rib.  It is sure a good thing that they signed Vick to the team.  This might be a quarterback controversy in the making?  I know Vick can’t play for two more weeks but he will get his chance.

We have two good games for Monday night.  Alright I think both games are going to be a blow out.  Yes the Chargers are going to slaughter the Raiders and the Patriots are going to beat the Bills easily.  Oh, but Terrel Owens will have a touchdown for the Bills but it won’t be enough.

Let start in the East. 

This is what I wanted to warn Orlando about when they started the series.  Don’t go seven game or you’re done.  I believe that Orlando is the better team but game 7 is about playoff experience.  I never imagined that the Boston Celtics team would win three games against Orlando without KG  but they have.  I believe Boston is going to shock Orlando and go to the Eastern Conference Finals.  At least next year, Orlando will have a new coach.   

Now to Game 7 of the LA Lakers and Houston Rockets series.  I have no clue what is wrong with the LA Lakers.  Once Yao Ming went down I thought the series was over.  The Rockets won the next game, then Lakers blows out Houston, and then Houston beats LA again.  Well, at least game 7 is in LA and this means the Lakers are gonna slaughter the Rockets in game 7.  This game won’t even be close.  I have no doubt the Lakers will win this game and  advance to the Western Conference Finals.  Just remember it’s Kobe time.

April is here and that means NBA Playoffs.

I am not too excited this year about basketball yet.  The first round was alright.  The only series that brought any excitement was the Celtics/Bulls series.  I wished the Bulls had won.  Let’s move to the second round action.

Yesterday we saw game one of the Denver/Dallas series.  I really enjoyed watching Denver beating Dallas.  Dallas is no longer the team they use to be.  The window has  closed for Dallas.  Denver is red hot and will advance to the Western Conference Finals.

The Lakers/ Houston series will be another fun series.  The Lakers will win this series but I think it will take 5 games.  Houston is  really no match for the Lakers but I hope Bynam will step it up this series.  They will need him in this series.  Lakers will make it easily to the next round.

The Cavs/Hawks series I am looking forward to.  I think the Cavs should breeze through this series but Atlanta is a team that will compete with the Cavs.  I will say that the Cavs will win the series in 6 games.  Watch out for Atlanta to make some waves but Lebron and the Cavs will overcome.

The Orlando/Celtics series is another series that I am hoping for total domination by one team, The Orlando Magic.  After the first round, I think that Orlando will struggle against the Celtics.  Orlando must play hard early to finish the series quick.  Don’t let Boston hang around.  I say this series will be close but Orlando will win it in 6 games.  If it goes to seventh game, then Boston will win it.  Orlando do whatever you have to not to take it to a seventh game.

I must say that I really like my IPod. 

I went to go burn a CD today on my laptop and I get an error saying the software is not installled.  I was doing a little research on the Internet and I found out I am not the only person this has happened to.  It turns out that someone else had the exact same error when they installed ITunes.  It seems I got this error, when I installed ITunes also.  As I was reading the thread to fix it, it seems ITunes writes some code into Vista.  It seems like an easy fix.  I will copy below the fix.  All I have to say in Apple sucks but I love my I-Pod.

u need to go to start menu and then on the star search u need to search for “regedit”
when u are inside the regedit, look for this subkey “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}”

close the regedit and restart the windows.

I have to admit that there are very few good comedies on TV.  This new TV season, my wife and I enjoy  watching Worst Week on CBS at 9:30pm on Monday nights.  This show is hilarious.  The writers of this show come up with some very funny stories on the episode I have seen so far.  The basic plot is an engaged man tries desperately to impress his fiancée’s parents but his attempts inevitably end in disaster. 

I am not sure if this show will last longer than one season but it is very good for laughs.  I think the show is very original and fun to watch.    I will enjoy it as long as they keep it on.  If your are looking for a good laugh, watch Worst Week on Monday nights.
