Lakers vs Celtics – Game 4 – Don’t Blame Kobe, It was my fault

Well it seemed like an easy victory for the Lakers in the first half.  Itold my wife that there was no way Boston could win.  The series would be tied, all the Lakers had to do was play another quarter and a half of good basketball.  It was time to to put the kids down so I turned off the television.  My princess was asleep and my wife was taking care of our boy, so Iwent downstairs.  I turned on the television and I was excited there was time left in the game.  Then I saw the score, Boston was up by three points with about two minutes left.  NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!  But wait, we have Kobe Bryant and this is no problem for Los Angeles.  As the seconds ticked away, I was a little irritated.  What happened to the Lakers’ fire.  I watched Ray Allen score on a layup, untouched.  The Lakers needed to get a little more emotional.  Never, never let the away team get a lead and if they do then it is time to make them earn every shot.  If they come inside , then foul them and foul them clean and hard.

Alright, so I am not here to blame any of the players.  I think the Lakers knew I turned off the television and just stop playing as hard.  All kidding aside,  the Lakers need to look at history.  Do the Lakers want to lose another Championship to the dreaded Celtics.

Kobe your the MVP and it’s time to turn it on.  Kobe this is the time to prove how much better you are than Michael Jordan.  Do what no one has ever done and lead the Lakers back to a championship down one game to three.  This would definitely cement Kobe’s legacy and end the debate if Kobe is better than Michael.  To all the other Lakers, if Kobe is having a hard time scoring, then make your shots.  Do what you get paid for and hit a couple more baskets.

There are a few other options out there for the Lakers.  Option one bribe a referee.  Hey, why not bribe more than one.  This will guarantee you will have more opportunities at the free throw line.  Option two, have a heart to heart talk with David Stern and maybe he can have a talk with the referees for you.  Convice David Stern that a historic comeback by the Lakers would be good rating for television and the NBA. Option three convince the NBA that the Lakers need an immediate trade for Shaq because the Shaq trade was a mistake and you want a do over on the trade.

HMMMMM, can Kobe win without Shaq???????????  I guess we will soon find out.

Another question, if Kobe does not win the NBA Finals this year, then what is wrong with this team and what do the Lakers need to do to win it in the future?

  1. Props to Paul Pierce for completely shutting Kobe Bryant down. Dan Wetzel wrote a great piece about how Pierce told Doc Rivers that he wanted to be assigned to Kobe at halftime, and how that sparked the team’s comeback. Word.

  2. Kobe is a whinning thug who is only concerned about himself. Just like in the rape alligations it was all about him! He was afraid his wife would leave him. If that was his only concern over his wife leaving he would have never put himself into that position multiple times. Luckly he didn’t get AIDS, unprotected sex with someone he just met?

    Back on topic,
It was great seeing Pierce shut him down! Tell Odom to put his tonge back in his mouth and finish a game for once in his career. Now you know why Gasol was traded, he is a good role player and not much more. Don’t expect greatness from an average big.

I am not a Celtics fan, (San Antonio) but I enjoyed watching the grit and determination of this team last night. Great efforts bring great success! Go Boston you deserve to win!

  3. I don’t know how people would think Kobe is better than MJ? Also I want to add, MJ wouldn’t of let a team come back from a 24 point deficit. Kobe ain’t better than MJ.

  4. Kobe is NOWHERE NEAR as good as MJ AND NEVER WILL BE!!! To even mention that rapist in the same sentence is disrespectful to MJ. Lakers are going down in five!

  5. I agree with you all. My point is if Kobe is so great, he will lead the Lakers back in this series. Kobe is a great one on one player but he still lacks leadership. Magic and MJ both have it. Even LeBron has it.

Kobe wanted to have a better team, which he has now, but they are losing this series to the Celtics. What does that say about Kobe’s leadership?

Magic, Bird, and MJ would have never lost a NBA Finals game when leading by 24 points. If Magic, Bird, or MJ was on this team, they would be winning this series. It is the eye of the tiger and Kobe has no eye of the tiger.

It goes back to what I have been saying, the only reason Kobe has three championship rings is because of Shaq. Kobe is like Scottie Pippen, he can’t win without Shaq or a big guy.

Kobe has Gasol and he still can’t win a NBA Championship. What changes will be coming to LA next year?

  6. I THOROUGHLY AGREE WITH viktorb! KOBE ONLY GOT HIS RINGS RIDING ON THE BACK OF ” THE DIESEL” THATS WHY SHAQ HAS 4 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP RINGS 3 BACK TO BACK AND 3 BACK TO BACK NBA FINALS MVP RINGS-WHERES KOBES? OHHH , AND IF HE WAS A MAN , HE’D GIVE THE BRO FROM THE HORNETS THAT MVP RING…BECAUSE HE ACTUALLY EARNED IT!
