Well it seemed like an easy victory for the Lakers in the first half. Itold my wife that there was no way Boston could win. The series would be tied, all the Lakers had to do was play another quarter and a half of good basketball. It was time to to put the kids down so I turned off the television. My princess was asleep and my wife was taking care of our boy, so Iwent downstairs. I turned on the television and I was excited there was time left in the game. Then I saw the score, Boston was up by three points with about two minutes left. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! But wait, we have Kobe Bryant and this is no problem for Los Angeles. As the seconds ticked away, I was a little irritated. What happened to the Lakers’ fire. I watched Ray Allen score on a layup, untouched. The Lakers needed to get a little more emotional. Never, never let the away team get a lead and if they do then it is time to make them earn every shot. If they come inside , then foul them and foul them clean and hard.
Alright, so I am not here to blame any of the players. I think the Lakers knew I turned off the television and just stop playing as hard. All kidding aside, the Lakers need to look at history. Do the Lakers want to lose another Championship to the dreaded Celtics.
Kobe your the MVP and it’s time to turn it on. Kobe this is the time to prove how much better you are than Michael Jordan. Do what no one has ever done and lead the Lakers back to a championship down one game to three. This would definitely cement Kobe’s legacy and end the debate if Kobe is better than Michael. To all the other Lakers, if Kobe is having a hard time scoring, then make your shots. Do what you get paid for and hit a couple more baskets.
There are a few other options out there for the Lakers. Option one bribe a referee. Hey, why not bribe more than one. This will guarantee you will have more opportunities at the free throw line. Option two, have a heart to heart talk with David Stern and maybe he can have a talk with the referees for you. Convice David Stern that a historic comeback by the Lakers would be good rating for television and the NBA. Option three convince the NBA that the Lakers need an immediate trade for Shaq because the Shaq trade was a mistake and you want a do over on the trade.
HMMMMM, can Kobe win without Shaq??????????? I guess we will soon find out.
Another question, if Kobe does not win the NBA Finals this year, then what is wrong with this team and what do the Lakers need to do to win it in the future?
