NFL Predictions for the 2010 Season

Tonight, we have the first game of the NFL Season, New Orleans vs Minnesota.  What a game this should be but I am worried how rusty old-timer, Brett Farve will be. My prediction is that the New Orleans Saints will take a commanding lead early in the 3rd quarter and Minnesota will battle back in the fourth quarter to tie.  I have a gut feeling Brett Farve will lead his team down the field to win the game but in the last-minute of the game he will throw an interception.  New Orleans will be in field goal range and they will kick a field goal to win it.

Here are my prediction who will win each division.

In the AFC EAST, I like the NY Jets to win this division.  The Jets made some key acquisitions during the offseason.  These key changes will alow them to win this division.  I think the New England Patriots will make the playoffs as a wild card team.

In the AFC North, I like the Baltimore  Ravens. The Ravens have added some good receivers to their team.  The offense will be there this year and this will allow the defense some rest on the sidelines. This will be one tough division so don’t overlook the Steelers or the Bengals.  I think Pittsburg will make some waves and might make it to the playoffs as a wild card team.

In the AFC South, I like the Indianapolis Colts.  Peyton and his team are the team to beat in the AFC.  I also like the Texans in this division and in week one they get a chance to make a statement to the league.  The Houston Texans will square off against the Indianapolis Colts and this will be the game of the month. If the Texans can pull off a victory in week one, this may be the moment they need to make the playoffs.  If they lose this game all bets are off.

In the AFC West, I hate to say it but go with the San Diego Chargers.   As a Chiefs fan, I hate the Chargers but in this division they are the best by default.  I expect very little from Kansas City, Denver, or Oakland this year.  On paper, I like the Raiders defense but I am not too sure about the offense.  As Chiefs fan, go chiefs, but with reality sinking in, I can’t see the Chiefs winning more than 6 games.

In the NFC East, I like the Philadelphia Eagles.  I know everyone likes the Cowboys. I expect the Cowboys and Eagles slug it out to win the division but I think the Eagles will make a run in December in wun the division.

In the NFC North, I like the Green Bay Packers.  Green Bay is out to make a statement and they will when the welcome back Brett Farve and the Minnesota Vikings back in Lambeau.  After this game Brett Farve will retire from football again but he will decide to come back a week later.  Minnesota will be a force in the NFC North but I am not sure if Farve will last the whole season.

In the NFC South, I like the New Orleans Saints.  I hope Atlanta gives the Saints a run for the division but I know the Saints are poised to win the NFC South again.

In the NFC West, I like the Seattle Seahawks.  If the Seahawks stay healthy then the 49ners better watch out.  This division is a weak division but I don’t believe all the hype about the 49ners.  Watch out for the Seahawks this year.

Sunday NBA Game 7 Predictions

Let start in the East.

This is what I wanted to warn Orlando about when they started the series.  Don’t go seven game or you’re done.  I believe that Orlando is the better team but game 7 is about playoff experience.  I never imagined that the Boston Celtics team would win three games against Orlando without KG  but they have.  I believe Boston is going to shock Orlando and go to the Eastern Conference Finals.  At least next year, Orlando will have a new coach.

Now to Game 7 of the LA Lakers and Houston Rockets series.  I have no clue what is wrong with the LA Lakers.  Once Yao Ming went down I thought the series was over.  The Rockets won the next game, then Lakers blows out Houston, and then Houston beats LA again.  Well, at least game 7 is in LA and this means the Lakers are gonna slaughter the Rockets in game 7.  This game won’t even be close.  I have no doubt the Lakers will win this game and  advance to the Western Conference Finals.  Just remember it’s Kobe time.

NBA Playoffs – Round 2 (2009)

April is here and that means NBA Playoffs.

I am not too excited this year about basketball yet.  The first round was alright.  The only series that brought any excitement was the Celtics/Bulls series.  I wished the Bulls had won.  Let’s move to the second round action.

Yesterday we saw game one of the Denver/Dallas series.  I really enjoyed watching Denver beating Dallas.  Dallas is no longer the team they use to be.  The window has  closed for Dallas.  Denver is red hot and will advance to the Western Conference Finals.

The Lakers/ Houston series will be another fun series.  The Lakers will win this series but I think it will take 5 games.  Houston is  really no match for the Lakers but I hope Bynam will step it up this series.  They will need him in this series.  Lakers will make it easily to the next round.

The Cavs/Hawks series I am looking forward to.  I think the Cavs should breeze through this series but Atlanta is a team that will compete with the Cavs.  I will say that the Cavs will win the series in 6 games.  Watch out for Atlanta to make some waves but Lebron and the Cavs will overcome.

The Orlando/Celtics series is another series that I am hoping for total domination by one team, The Orlando Magic.  After the first round, I think that Orlando will struggle against the Celtics.  Orlando must play hard early to finish the series quick.  Don’t let Boston hang around.  I say this series will be close but Orlando will win it in 6 games.  If it goes to seventh game, then Boston will win it.  Orlando do whatever you have to not to take it to a seventh game.

Eastern Conference Finals Prediction 2008

My prediction for the Eastern Conference is a hard one.  These two teams are the best in the East and I do not believe any of the other teams come close to them in the Eastern Conference.  Cleveland is probably the closest but they need to add some role players for Lebron James.  I know some argue that the Orlando Magic are a team on the rise but I don’t see them as an NBA Championship contender for at least another two years.

Detroit is defineately the favorite in this series.  i know Boston has home court but Boston has struggled during the playoffs.  I am not sure who to blame in Boston either the coach or the players but they can’t rely on always winning at home.  They need to learn to win on the road in the playoffs.  I hope Boston realizes from seeing the result of the San Antonio Spurs/New Orleans Hornets series, that it is vital to win on the road and not to rely on home court advantage.

I believe the Boston Celtics will win this in 6 games.  Boston will come out and make a statement with this series.  This series will show they can win on the road and they are ready to face any team in the West. I believe that Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce will stop at nothing to make it to the NBA Finals.  The clock is ticking for them and this is their best chance to get a ring. I believe in conspiracy theories and I believe David Stern will do what he need to do to assure a LA Lakers/Boston Celtics series.  The NBA would have great ratings for that series.
