Are We Under Attack??????

Around 9pm Friday night, the quiet night sky was shaken with a flash of light and a loud BOOM! I thought it was my imagination but Ilma also heard it, yet again another loud boom and a flash of light. I journey out our front door and there in the sky were fireworks exploding over my roof. It seems this was homecoming night for the local high school, one block away. The lone victim was a scared dog that was running loose terrified by the fireworks in the sky.

Yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, today I got a treat I have not had in awhile. First off the fireworks spook me last night and now Ilma was going to cook. She made yummy potato pancakes. I always remember back to the time that my grandmother made them once.

My brother, our friends Grand & Scott were over and it was during the time my grandmother was living with us. While Grant and Scott were over, my grandmother started to cook. Eventually our friends left and my brother and I went to see what our grandmother had made. It was potato pancakes. The funny thing was she was making pancakes not only for my brother and myself but also for Grant and Scott, too bad they had left. My brother and I had to eat the huge stacks, and I mean HUGE stack of potato pancakes by ourselves.

Hey i learned something today. Potato is spelled like that and not like this, potatoe.

My Shadow

Hi all,

Well I realized this Sunday that I have a new shadow. It’s not like I have not been outside of the dark and never seen my shadow but I noticed that Lukas is at that age where he want to do what I do. When I go to the garage to get something, he is right behind. When I go to take the trash out, he is right behind me. Today when I was going back to work at lunchtime, he wants to go out the door with me.

What a blessing it is to have Lukas. I know when he hits his teenage years or even earlier, it won’t be cool to be dad’s shadow. As long this is what he wants than I won’t stop him.

It just makes me think if he wants to mimic me, then what other habits of mine will he also mimic. It is important for me to be careful of what things I do and say around him. The things he learns today will impact him for the rest of his lifetime.

Pumpkin Patch

picture-633a.jpgpicture-634a.jpgWell it was our annual trip to the Underwood Family Farms earlier this week.  Please note, we made two trips this year because on our first trip our camera died.

It is always an experience going to the pumpkin patch.  Lukas wanted to play on the playground and Ava wanted to be held.  Lukas did climb to the top of the haystack and found his way through the corn maze.  We also saw an assortment of birds and ponies, goats, emus, and even a huge cow.  Lukas seemed to be scared of the cow.  Hopefuly that means he won’t be involved in any cow tipping in the near future.

Lukas and Ava did pose for some cute photos in the pumpkin patch.  Although Ava did fall down twice while we were trying to get a photo but then Ilma became very creative to keep her from falling.  At the end of the day Lukas and Mama picked out a few pumpkins.

Thanks to the folks at Underwood Family Farms.

My First Post

Hi All,

Welcome to my Blog!  What is there to say.

Well I live in beautiful California. I have two kids and one wife.  On top of working full time, I am currently taking classes to earn an Associate Degree in Business.  My course work should be complete by the end of Spring.

What to expect from my blog.  I tend to be all over the place in regards to topics.  I enjoy discussing aspects of the Christian faith. I like to talk about things happening with my family.  Occasionally I will talk about current events in the world and show on TV.  Often you may find many posts discussing football and basketball.

Well bye for now
